Solutions for Information Design (SOLID) is seeking a full-time Occupational Analyst. SOLID is an occupational research and analysis firm that supports a variety of federal government and private sector initiatives with an emphasis on research associated with translating military training and experience to civilian jobs and credentials.

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. They must have strong initiative and be able to work independently, but also be comfortable working remotely with a team of analysts. Due to the military focus of much of our work, this position would be well suited for a military veteran or military spouse.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Analyst will work as part of a research team on multiple projects. Job responsibilities may include:

  • Policy analysis
  • Job/task analysis
  • Occupational classification
  • Workforce development research
  • Skills gap analysis
  • Training needs analysis
  • Other social science research and analysis
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Presentations to clients
  • Business process and business rule development and documentation
  • Proposal development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Human Resources, or I/O Psychology (or related area)
  • Five years of related experience

Required Skills

  • Excellent research and analytical skills (with an emphasis on types of analysis noted above)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with:

  • Occupational classification systems (e.g., SOC, O*NET, OPM)
  • Military occupational classification as well as military education and training
  • Credentialing, including professional certification and licensure
  • The SharePoint and Office 365 environment

Web Developer

Description

Solutions for Information Design (SOLID) seeks a Web Developer to join our growing team. SOLID provides social science research and analysis to support public policy decision making as well as web design and development support, including content development, web application development and database design and integration. The Web Developer will be responsible for the development, coding and maintenance of web sites and web applications. The Web Developer will join an agile team where your contributions will be immediately recognized and you will have a major impact on projects. Ideal candidates are creative, self-directed and passionate professionals who stay current on emerging technologies, have excellent programming and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Web Developer must demonstrate effectiveness as a team player and possess strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement browser-based user interfaces for current and future web sites and web applications
  • Provide new features and functionality for existing sites and applications
  • Develop and integrate graphical components into the websites and applications
  • Manage and enhance the company’s website content and functionality
  • Locate and correct website bugs, and manage the broken link repair process
  • Perform user interface maintenance and development, including functional enhancements of our custom analysis web application
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team
  • Participate in quality assurance and testing activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science or a related field
  • Three to five years of web application development work experience
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio, ASP.NET MVC, C#, Razor, SQL/SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML
  • Proficiency in database development, modification and queries
  • Knowledgeable in CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap
  • Ability to produce valid, well-commented code
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-manage deadlines of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with:

  • Responsive web design and CSS media queries
  • Computer graphic and multimedia design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and the Microsoft Visual Web Developer
  • SharePoint and Office 365 environments
  • IT project management and working in an Agile software development environment
  • Hands-on development experience in the following:
